PROJECT DESCRIPTION

AvLogix were engaged by DHL to provide implementation support for an automation system that included high-bay storage and conveyor systems for inbound, storage, picking, packing and despatch to facilitate a fashion distributor of several high-profile brands.

The system consists of nine cranes managing over 300,000 high density storage locations and four goods-to-persons stations supported by voice guided picking.

This project required interface to multiple logistics controls and management systems with expansion capabilities to cater for future growth. 

Other roles that the AvLogix team carried out for this project included the IT project management role coordinating the software and network elements and the client-side construction project manager role coordinating the building design through concept to delivery.

Following the system testing and operations start-up, AvLogix maintained a support role during the brand transition period to assist the DHL teams with bedding-in the new business processes.
