PROJECT DESCRIPTION

AvLogix were appointed by DHL Supply Chain for design consultancy services for their 31,000 m2 consolidated healthcare facility automation system. This included separate process requirements for the Ambient and Cold Chain operations with sortation system to aggregate the outbound pick, pack and dispatch orders together.

This technically complex project required interface to various warehouse and distribution management systems and Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) quality control requirements for the -22 degree freezer and the 2 to 8 degree cold chain areas.

The scope included initial analysis, concept design and performance specification of the Ambient and Cold Chain operations then evaluation of the supplier responses to form a recommended solution for Business Case Presentation and Board Approval.

In addition to the technical design services, AvLogix staff were also involved from concept through to practical completion of the industrial property as the client-side project manager.

This included integration of coolrooms, freezers and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning for the warehouse plus security, IT infrastructure and a 1.7MW photovoltaic system all integrated into the Building Management System.
