AvLogix Solutions’ Long-Term Role in Nadi International Airport Baggage Handling System Upgrade

Nadi, Fiji – August 2025

AvLogix Solutions is proud to celebrate its ongoing involvement as Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) Consultant for the major baggage upgrade at Nadi International Airport, Fiji’s largest international gateway. Since 2019, AvLogix has been supporting Fiji Airports through every stage of this landmark project, from initial feasibility and planning to tender development and now delivery oversight.

This is the first step in a multi-year program which will deliver a fully modernised BHS designed to enhance passenger experience, streamline operations and strengthen Nadi’s role as a critical hub for tourism and trade in the Pacific. The system is being delivered by Alstef Group, with the construction phase now getting underway following the recent award of the contract.

AvLogix has played a pivotal role since the project’s inception, including:

  • Feasibility and planning studies to define system requirements

  • Concept and schematic design support for terminal and baggage operations

  • Stakeholder engagement with Fiji Airports and airline partners

  • Tender documentation and evaluation leading to Alstef’s appointment

  • Ongoing advisory services during implementation to ensure seamless integration

AvLogix Solutions Supporting Adelaide Airport’s Project Flight Upgrades as BHS Consultant

This $600 million upgrade is transforming the terminal precinct to support the airport’s long-term growth and enhance the passenger experience.

 

Project Flight includes a suite of major improvements: expansion of the check-in hall by more than 1,500 sqm, additional departure gates and aerobridges at both ends of the terminal, and the rollout of advanced screening technologies—body scanners, 3D X-ray systems, and an enhanced checked baggage screening system.

 AvLogix is delivering expert BHS planning and design services across the planning and integration phases. Key contributions include:

With planning approval now secured, the New Terminal project will enable the relocation of Qantas Group domestic and international services to the airport’s eastern precinct, alongside other airline operations. The development is a key step in Perth Airport’s strategy to modernise and consolidate its terminal infrastructure, creating a seamless experience for passengers and operational stakeholders.

Team AvLogix Laces Up for Cancer Research in HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon

AvLogix are proud to announce their participation in the HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon 2024. The event, running on 5 May, will see seven members from AvLogix participate in the team event category and support the community through fundraising efforts for Cure Cancer, a charity dedicated to kick-starting new ideas from bright emerging scientists across every cancer.

Christian Riegman shared, “This event holds special significance for us. Not only are we pushing our physical limits by participating in what is for many of the team their first attempt at long distance running, let alone a half marathon, but we’re also driven by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer, a disease that affects so many of us.”

DHL Global Forwarding opens new 5,000 sqm facility at Brisbane International Airport

AvLogix was engaged by DHL Global Forwarding as Client-Side Project Manager from initial planning and concept design through to delivery of their new QLD facility at Brisbane International Airport. The 5,000 sqm facility has a large open plan warehouse with an integrated perishable area and material handling system (castor deck, ball deck, truck docks, lowering workstations). Dimension/weighing technology integrated with x-ray screening further improves operational productivity for DHL. During the planning phase the ergonomic, safety and sustainability factors of the solution were key design considerations.

 AvLogix provided:

  • Concept Design integrating efficient traffic handling, general and perishable cargo handling processes and an integrated material handling system for ULDs
